The City of Anderson Emergency Management Department coordinates and utilizes existing city personnel and facilities to prepare for an meet any emergency which exceeds the demands of standard operating procedures within individual departments, whether the emergency is natural or man-made.
Flood Hazard Information
Floods of the White River and Killbuck Creek are caused by runoff from general and/or intense rainfall. Other areas of flooding concern are from the Boland Ditch and Pittsford Ditch. Although flood waters are not as deep, they still cover streets and yards and can flood cars, garages, basements, and lower floors. Continue reading to learn more about flooding in the area.

Roadways are slick and hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Motorists should use extreme caution and are encouraged to travel only as necessary to and from work, in a medical emergency, or to obtain home necessities.
City streets and highways are extremely hazardous and in some cases impassable. Roads are totally snow / ice covered and drifted. No one should travel during these conditions unless absolutely necessary and it shall be a violation of this ordinance and unlawful if they block or impede the travel of any emergency or street department vehicles in the performance of their duties.
It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly or intentionally violate a Level 3: Snow Emergency. Violators may be fined $100-$500 at the discretion of the court. Any vehicle in violation of this ordinance is subject to removal by towing, or other means at the expense of the owner. Those vehicles exempt from this ordinance shall include: medical assistance, law enforcement, fire, emergency management, public utilities, employees of above said, those tending to agricultural needs, or any person traveling to and from post secondary education classes or laboratories.
